Wedding Week 2024 - Day 3

Posted by Natasha Tung on

It's been so lovely seeing such gorgeous creations these past two days, and we still have three more days left!! Today's looks are equally gorgeous, with special occasion looks for babies, tweens, and everyone in between! If you're just joining us, you may want to check our Monday and Tuesday posts as well!

This year we’re grateful to our friends at Farmhouse Fabrics who have graciously sponsored the looks of five of our sewists! Farmhouse Fabrics is THE place you want to shop in the US for all things heirloom: laces, organdy, Liberty of London, Swiss voile, linen – you will adore their collection!

Be sure to check into the Peony Patterns Facebook Group each day to see more photos from each of these talented artists!

Finally, don't forget to take advantage of our pattern sale - get 30% off until Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Dulce @deileenslittlecloset

For this beautiful garment, Dulce was inspired by the upcoming summer season. She envisions this as the perfect flower girl dress for a summer wedding. We love the fun yellow she used in this dress!

Patterns used:

Bodice – Hibiscus with sweetheart neckline and Ivy back; Skirt -  maxi top tier skirt from Juniper with Acacia skirt ruffle

Fabric used:

Silk taffeta in yellow gingham and overlayed with silk organza in champagne; French lace (Farmhouse Fabrics).

Amanda Flor @_amf28

Our mouths dropped at this stunning junior bridesmaid dress by Amanda Flor! Ever since Dandelion was released, Amanda has wanted to create one using lace in her stash. She knew she wanted to keep the lace unlined so that the details would shine through. This was definitely the perfect pattern for it!

Patterns used:

Dandelion

Fabric used:

Lace, double gauze and a tulle motif

Emily Rickell @emmysews1

"Something Blue" rang true for Emily when looking for inspiration for her Wedding Week creation! And doesn't her little one just make you grin so much? A perfect way to start the day! The beautiful eyelet combined with doily gives a vintage vibe, creating a gorgeous heirloom piece.

Patterns used:

Baby Poppy top with rolled hems & Daffodil Diaper Cover with back ruffles

Fabric used:

Broderie Anglais and brushed cotton (op shop/thrift store), vintage embroidered doily

Kara Doiron @Karascolourfulcreations

Kara wanted to create something that would be fancy for the ceremony but more comfortable for the reception, so she decided on a romper with a skirt over top. We love how the lace on the sleeves creates a wing effect – as if she were a fairy! We also love how Kara created this outfit with upcycled materials! Fancy doesn’t have to mean expensive!

Patterns used:

Olive romper with elastic shoulders inspired by Hibiscus. Skirt is Powderpuff with extra layers.

Fabric used:

Lace (curtain), tulle and cotton lining (bedsheet). The lace was a curtain and the cotton lining a bedsheet both thrifted.

Katie Estell @wildfireandhoney

Turning TEN means a whole new adventure for Katie as her daughter enters into tween territory! Katie has discovered that while her daughter’s tastes have quickly become more mature, she still wants to balance that with the fact that she is still young. We just love the pretty purple she used for this adorable crop and skirt set!

Patterns used:

Posie and Saffron for the top and slightly modified Saffron skirt to include a contrasting waistband allowing for the addition of a chiffon overlay to the body of the skirt.

Fabric used:

Quilting cotton, chiffon (JoAnn)

Tamara Hopkins @mumma_made_it

For her look, Tamara took inspiration from a garden wedding. We think you'll agree that this little purple dress is especially delightful with the gorgeous lace motif across the bodice. The sheer organza sleeves are especially sweet as well!

Patterns used:

Willow with Marigold sleeves and Powderpuff Pettiskirt

Fabric used:

Embroidered lace, organza and satin

That's it for today! Remember to check in tomorrow morning for more amazing creations, and be sure to stock up on your favorite patterns during our Wedding Week sale! All patterns are 30% off until Sunday, May 19, 2024.
