Wedding Week 2023 - Day 5

Welcome to day 5 of wedding week, where the inspiration continues!
Sarah Guidry Riche (Patterns used: Dahlia + Dandelion)
While scrolling Pinterest, Sarah stumbled upon the most adorable flower girl dress with a lace overlay bodice and tulle skirt! It looked simple enough and although she didn't have much experience with "fancy fabrics", she decided to give it a whirl and look how incredible it came out!
Sarah used our beautiful Dahlia bodice, slightly modified to be sleeveless and a dandelion vintage length skirt with three tulle top layers. Farmhouse Fabrics have a huge range of gorgeous fabrics suitable for all occasions and Sarah used their Pima cotton batiste for the liner and a mix of peach and ivory bobbinette for the top layers of the skirt. The bodice is underlined with the batiste with a layer of peach bobbinette over it, as well as a stunning ivory embroidered bridal lace with double scalloped border for the lace overlay. The beautiful mother of pearl button closure is also from Farmhouse Fabrics and is the perfect final addition to this darling flower girl dress.
Nastasia Morris (Pattern used: Calliandra)
“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" is what inspired Nastasia to create something timeless, with a touch of modern, and of course in a pretty blue hue.
Nastasia used our Calliandra pattern but hacked the bodice to have a non gathered flounce. It’s inserted differently than the original pattern in the front to give more of a flounce sleeve look. She also inserted pearl and bead trim along the original Calliandra bodice front, back, and waistline. Nastasia used a heavy double brushed satin fabric from Joann’s. What a beauty!
Malea Shae Gibson (Patterns used: Dandelion, Juniper)
Malea used her own wedding dress as inspiration, which makes this beautiful and whimsical dress just that little bit extra special.
Malea used Dandelion with a Juniper tiered top skirt in tulle and a beautiful lace underskirt with just a hint of blush satin lining peeking through. The satin underskirt/lining, lace and soft tulle were all purchased from Joann.
Annie Feore (Patterns used: Acacia, Lilac)
Annie's daughter recently asked her "Why are all fancy clothes dresses, because not all girls like skirts?"
So, they decided to take a different approach and make some formal shorts and a pretty blouse for 'the girl who wants to dress up, but not wear a skirt'. What a fabulous idea and doesn't it look amazing!
To create this look, Annie used Lilac shorts with some added length. The blouse was made by straightening the sides and lengthening the bodice pieces of the Acacia dress. Chiffon was used for the blouse because its soft floaty qualities and the shorts are a textured polyester with a pretty glittery thread running through. We just adore this smart and polished look Annie has created!
Dulce Hernandez (Pattern used: Juniper)
For this dress Dulce's inspiration was a whimsical garden wedding. The soft lilac colour stands out in a garden full of blooming flowers. This is a beautiful flower girl dress that every girl would dream of!
